Carmen - Is at YALE for college, where she helps out in the theater production. Her friend , Julia, invited her to help out with a theater school in Virginia, but she turns it down because she wants to see her friends for the summer. When her friends all get back together she gets upset because all of her friends have plans, so she goes to Virginia. In Virginia she is only supposed to be helping with the set but her love interest, Ian, forces to audition for the play. She gets a main role while Julia didn't. Julia got angry and tried to get Ian to like her and try to have the director take her out of the play. Carmen ends up doing great in the play and kisses Ian at the end, and her new brother is born.
Tibby - Has to write a script for summer school at...NYU? She also works at a video store. She and Brian have sex for the first time and the condom broke. She breaks it off with Brian and freaks out for a while because her period is late. She ends up getting her period eventually. She is then mad because Brian asked Effie ( Lena's sister) out. Carmen then asks her to go to her mom, who is in labor. Tibby changes her mind about Brian after helping Carmen's mom give birth, and they get back together.
Lena - Lena's grandfather died and at the funeral she runs into Kostas. She and him broke up a while ago. She finds out that he is expecting a child and has married that woman. She goes back to the US and takes art classes where she meets Leo. She and Leo start going out but then Kostas shows up and says his wife lied about having a baby so they seperated. Lena pushes him away. Lena gets back with Kostas.
Bridget - Bridget is a soccer coach. She goes to Turkey for the summer for a arechological dig. Before she leaves she finds bunches of letters her mother's mother has sent her for the past 10ish years. She goes on the dig and becomes upset when they find a body of a 35 year old mother who lived hundreds of years ago. Her mother was 35 when she killed herself. She starts reading her grandmothers letters and travels to go see her. She finds out that her mother had been sick for a long time and refused help. She confides in her grandma feelings she has about her mothers death, and grandma assured her that it wasn't her fault and that she loved her.
Also, Lena's sister Effie steels the pants and brings them to Greece and loses them. So Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget all go to Greece to find them. They end up not finding them so they take it is a sign. But the pants being lost brought them all together for the first time all summer.
