Matrix Revolutions
In Matrix Revolutions, how come the Machine Gun Mechs leaves the pilot completely exposed?
This small detail is what turns me off to the movie the most. It just seems completely retarded that a piece of war machine would be designed to leave it's pilot completely exposed.
Then to have these same pilots be able to survive the onslaught of thousands of drones without so much as a plate of steel in front of them seems ridiculous.
Why weight the machine down even more, the arms are so big I would think that the pilot would not be completely exposed but only partially.
Considering they are deep within the earths core there can't be that much light even if they do have power. I think throwing extra shadows into the works would create for a disadvantage, especially since the machines swim through air like squids swim through water.
There is no point in glass, or enclosed cockpit considering they don't need to be protected from the elements.
I admit the design probably isn't the best they could have come up with, but what do you expect from people living thousands of miles below the surface for thousands of years fighting self-aware machines.They probably didn't want to make those Mechs too advanced, so they went simple. IMHO
