My fiance and I are planning to marry in Dec. 08. We want children.?
How long before we try does my metformin need to change. While I am not a ful blown diabetic I am insulin resistance. I do check my blood twice a day. I am going to end up on insulin when I become pregnant. My blood sugars are in excellent control.
My gyn happens to be an endocrinologist. She is not the one who put me on the metformin. But she will be doing my endo and ob/gyn stuff when we do have children.
i would definately have a conversation with your OBGYN and your Endo. first. With both of my children my sugars were so up and down i ended up w/ a lot of problems. However as long as you follow your Dr. orders everything should be just fine. Both of mine were normal weight and everything.But to answer your question my medication needed to be changed around my second trimester w/ my second child and one to two wees before that w/ my first.
